McHenry County Century Ride

The 2026 McHenry County (Quarter, Half, & Full) Century Ride is excited to bring you a "Hub Spoke" ride to get to your 26-100+ mile bike ride through scenic McHenry County! This ride will showcase the scenic and mainly flat roads of McHenry County. The "Hub" rest stop will fill you with great snacks and sandwiches throughout the ride. From the hub you have a choice of 4 'spoke' routes with varying distances. The route has distances for every level of rider. Choose the distance, double up on one loop, tackle all four loops...You customize your route. Enjoy four loops connected through one rest stop for a fantastic day of riding! We ride rain or shine.

Volunteer Roles Needed

Bike Mobiles

Bike Riders to Patrol the Course

Bike mobiles are volunteers who patrol the course on bicycles. This is especailly important on sections of the course where SAG vehicles cannot drive

Command Center

Command Center Volunteers

Command center volunteers monitor the course and the riders and they assign portions of the route the the SAG vehicles, and bike mobiles. If an incident is reported or a rider calls the SAG hotline then they dispatch the appropriate resources to that location.

Motorcycle Mobile

Motorcycle Mobile

Two motorcycle mobiles are used in this event. The "Locomotive" leads the race staying slightly ahead of the lead rider. The "Caboose" follows the last rider on the course. Once the first rider crosses the finish line the Locomotive begins patrolling the course.

Drivers for Support and Gear Vehicles

SAG vehicles patrol the race course and provide assistance and transport to riders. They can be dispatched to respond by the event staff or they may identify riders who need assistance as they patrol the route.
